Bandits suspected to be terrorists have attacked a team of soldiers at Zurak Kampani, Wase local government area of Plateau State during an ambush.
The terrorists came to the community when the locals were busy with market activities and killed one soldier, while injuring one other, Daily Post reports.
He stated that a day before the ambush, the bandits stormed Pinau village of the same local government area, and rustled over 500 cattle.
He lamented that Wase communities had of recently been experiencing banditry activities in recent time, forcing many to flee their homes for safety.
However, the spokesperson of a multi-security task force, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Major Ishaku Takwa, who confirmed the ambush, denied that any soldier was killed in the incident and explained that the task force had been able to maintain peace in the state.
