Sura Congratulates Atiku for winning the Presidential ticket of the ADC

The gubernatorial candidate of the ADC in Plateau State, retired Brigadier General John Sunday Sura has congratulated Alhaji Atiku Abubakar over his victory in the ADC Presidential primary elections held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

Brigadier General Sura said, the results of the fairly conducted ADC primaries reflected the desire of Nigerians to stem the slippery slide that the Nigerian economy is taking. “The choice of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar shows that we are waking up to take back our country and ADC is the appropriate vehicle to convey us in that journey” he said.

The Plateau State ADC gubernatorial candidate, highlighted the unique qualities of the ADC Presidential flag bearer.
“The high vote for Alhaji Atiku is a clear indication of confidence in his astuteness in politics and capacity in managing matter, mind and man. I congratulate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar on this achievement to lead us. I am now certain that ADC will come out victorious next year and Nigeria and Nigerians will be better for it”

While acknowledging the intensity of the contest, Sura who rides on the “What Matters Now” slogan, noted that there is growth being witnessed in internal party democracy in Nigeria where faithfuls conduct themselves with decorum.
“With security, food shortages, economic hardship top on the agenda, I am convinced that the people are conscious of their plight and are resolved to square up to it by electing the right caliber of Nigerians who understand what matters now in the country. These people are in the ADC” said the “What Matters Now” advocate.

Polling 1,855,787 votes to clinch the ticket, the former Vice President called on his opponents in the primary elections to join forces with him to ensure winning the 2027 general elections, saying, “As a family, we can resolve our differences amicably despite infiltration from external forces. This is the surest way to acquire victory in the greater struggle of rescuing Nigeria starting with the next election”

Former Minister of Transportation, Right Honourable Rotimi Amaechi polled 509,397 votes while former banker, Muhammad Hayyatu-Deen was voted by 180,903 party members. Total number of party membership for the primary election was
3,213,599.
