Super Eagles record biggest victory ever

Over the weekend Nigeria secured a place in the semi-finals of the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco following a convincing 2-0 victory over Algeria in Saturday’s quarter-final encounter.

The Super Eagles, led by coach Eric Chelle, dominated proceedings for much of the first half but were unable to convert their superiority into goals. Nigeria came closest to breaking the deadlock when Calvin Bassey’s effort was dramatically cleared off the line.

The breakthrough, however, came in the second half as Victor Osimhen rose highest to head home Bruno Onyemaechi’s cross. Osimhen later turned provider, setting up Akor Adams to seal the win with Nigeria’s second goal.

With the victory, the three-time African champions have booked a mouthwatering semi-final clash against tournament hosts Morocco, as they continue their quest for a fourth continental title.
