Animated comedy series South Park has mocked US President Donald Trump after winning an Emmy for Outstanding Animated Program at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
The show won the award on Sunday, September 6, for its episode “Sermon on the ‘Mount,” which featured a heavily satirical portrayal of Trump. The victory marked South Park’s first win in the category since 2013.
Following the victory, the show’s official X account shared a graphic depicting a fictionalised Trump holding an Emmy trophy with his trousers and underwear around his ankles.
The image carried the message: “You finally got your Emmy!” — a reference to Trump’s previous Emmy nominations and his failure to win the award.
Trump’s reality television programme, The Apprentice, was nominated for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program at the Emmys in 2004 and 2005 but lost on both occasions.
The latest South Park episode took its satire of Trump considerably further, portraying the president in an exaggerated relationship with Satan and poking fun at aspects of his administration and political persona.
The Emmy win was the show’s fifth victory for Outstanding Animated Program, with previous wins coming in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2013, according to the Television Academy.
The show’s creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone, have continued to use Trump as a central target of its political satire, particularly in its recent seasons.
The latest victory therefore gave South Park another opportunity to turn its award into a joke at Trump’s expense — this time reminding him of the Emmy that has eluded him.
