Popular Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, widely known as Rudeboy, has reportedly secured the arrest of a female X user identified as @chubbiediva after she accused him of r*pe and of abusing a minor.
The incident began on September 23 when photos of Paul’s wife, Ifeoma, were shared on X in celebration of her 25th birthday. Under one of the posts, an X user alleged that Paul had cheated on his ex-wife, Anita, with their maid.
In reaction, @chubbiediva escalated the claim, accusing the singer of r@ping or coercing the maid. She further alleged that he sent his wife and sister-in-law out of the house after the alleged incident was discovered.
The accusations quickly gained traction, with many Nigerians urging the award-winning singer to take legal action to defend his name. Paul subsequently vowed to ensure the user was held accountable under the law.
True to his word, reports indicate that the singer has now facilitated her arrest and is preparing to charge her to court.
An X user, @salako—one of those who had earlier encouraged the singer to pursue the case—provided an update on his handle on Wednesday. According to him, the accused fled the country after making the allegations but was eventually arrested on November 6 and will be arraigned soon.
