Controversial Islamic scholar Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has responded to calls for his arrest over his recent comment against the Christians.
In a sermon, Gumi had referred to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, as a “satanic person” and expressed concerns about Muslim victimization if the FCT and Israel were to collaborate. He also asserted that entrusting Nigeria’s national security to Christians and Southerners was dangerous.
His comment had triggered controversies as groups and individuals called for his immediate arrest for allegedly diminishing the image of Nigerian Christians.
According to Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Gumi should be arrested over his comment, describing the cleric as a “well-known associate of bandits”.
However, when reached by DAILY POST on his opinion over the calls for his arrest, Gumi simply said, “I should not have reply for idiots in a democracy”.
