Popular Nigerian comedian Seyi Law has congratulated fellow comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Martin, better known as Deeone, for achieving a remarkable milestone with his 52-hour stand-up comedy performance in Lagos.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, Seyi Law lauded Deeone’s determination and passion, describing the accomplishment as the result of years of vision, planning, and perseverance.
“What started as a joke to many was, in truth, a vision fueled by passion and years of planning. From 2021, the journey was long, demanding, and relentless, but today, it has become a reality.
A record-breaking 52 hours of performance is no small feat. It’s monumental,” Seyi Law wrote.
While official confirmation from the Guinness World Records is still pending, Seyi Law commended Deeone’s resilience and focus throughout the marathon, noting that his commitment serves as an inspiration to others.
“While we await the official confirmation, I want to take a moment to celebrate your unwavering dedication, resilience, and sheer willpower it took to get here.
You’ve done what most wouldn’t dare to attempt, and I pray this achievement opens doors to even greater success,” he added.
Deeone, in a video shared on Saturday morning following the performance, revealed that his initial target was 60 hours, but he successfully completed 52 hours and some minutes of continuous stand-up comedy.
Earlier, the comedian had announced his plan to break the Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy performance, revealing that the event would run from October 2 to 4, 2025, at Pallazo Lagos, Opebi, Ikeja.
The announcement, accompanied by a humorous flier styled like a traditional burial poster, quickly went viral and drew widespread attention on social media.
