Several persons were feared dead on Wednesday after a Dangote truck was reportedly involved in a fatal accident in Enugu State.

Although details remain sketchy, eyewitnesses told Parallel Fact News that multiple casualties were recorded in the crash, while survivors are currently receiving treatment in nearby medical facilities. The exact number of victims and the precise location of the incident had yet to be confirmed as of press time.

This latest tragedy adds to a growing list of accidents involving trucks belonging to the Dangote Group. Just weeks ago, a Dangote truck hit and killed Ruth Otabor, sister of Big Brother Naija winner Phyna, in Edo State.

Similarly, in April 2024, at least 19 people lost their lives when a Dangote truck collided with a Toyota Hiace bus along the Okene–Lokoja highway.

The repeated involvement of Dangote trucks in fatal crashes has continued to trigger public outrage, with many Nigerians calling for stronger regulatory measures to prevent further loss of lives.
