Senator I. D. Gyang has expressed grief over the death of Rt. Hon. Peter Ajang Azi, former Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly.
In a condolence statement, Senator Gyang described Azi as a towering and amiable political leader, consummate politician and bridge builder whose contributions to public service left an enduring mark on Plateau State.
He said the late former Speaker provided dedicated leadership during his tenure in the State Assembly, steering the legislature with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the people.
According to him, Azi’s influence extended beyond the corridors of power, as he remained a unifying figure who promoted peace, dialogue and understanding across political and social divides.
Senator Gyang noted that the deceased’s passion for public service, humility and quiet strength would continue to inspire those who knew and worked with him.
He extended his condolences to the Azi Ajang family, the Izere nation, the people of Jos North-West, whom the late politician represented, and the entire Plateau State.
Senator Gyang prayed that God would grant the deceased eternal rest and comfort his family and loved ones at the time of grief.
