Mr. Hassan Husseini, a dedicated outrider for Senate President Godswill Akpabio, has died in a tragic road accident.
Husseini, who hailed from Kogi State, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2025, while travelling from Lagos to Ibadan to receive the Senate President. Reports indicated that he was crushed when a vehicle collided with his motorcycle.
He was due to retire from service in February 2026 and is survived by his widow and four children.
On Tuesday, a motion was moved on the floor of the Senate in Abuja by Senator Sunday Karimi, representing Kogi West, expressing condolences and informing colleagues of Husseini’s passing. “A careless driver crushed him. He was married with four children,” Karimi said.
Senate President Akpabio had earlier briefed the chamber about Husseini’s death, noting that he was buried on Tuesday morning. In honour of the late outrider, Akpabio recommended that two of Husseini’s children be employed in government parastatals, and in the absence of available positions, they could be accommodated in any of his private enterprises.
Husseini’s death has been mourned by colleagues and citizens alike, highlighting the risks faced by those in public service roles.
