Sad: As UK depots 28 Nigerians

A sad event occured as 21 males and seven females of Nigerian origin Nigeria have been deported from the United Kingdom (UK). This was carried across by the spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi.

Who confirmed the deportation to journalist at the airport – After being profiled by immigration authorities, the deportees were each given funds to facilitate their transportation to their respective destinations Twenty eight Nigerians have been deported from the United Kingdom (UK) for reportedly breaching immigration laws in that country.

According to  The Sun reports, the deportees, comprising of 21 males and seven females arrived Nigeria via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA) Lagos on Thursday, June 29 on board a chartered Titanic Airways with registration number AWC-761/2. The spokesman of the Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi confirmed the deportation to journalists at the airport.

 Some government agencies who were on ground to receive the deportees include officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) the Police, and officials the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

According to our source, we learnt that after being profiled by immigration authorities, the deportees were each given a funds to facilitate their transportation to their respective destinations. In a related incident, thirty-four Nigerians deported from six European countries for immigration-related offences arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Thursday, June 22. The deportees, who arrived at 6.30a.m, were sent back home from Switzerland, Germany, Iceland, Austria, Belgium and Hungary. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that they comprised 32 males and two females, and were brought back in a chartered Airblue Panorama aircraft.
