In his homily, Rev. Fr. Kenneth Yilbil described the deceased as a devoted Christian, committed police officer and community-minded individual whose life reflected faith, discipline and service.

He said Mensem served in the Nigeria Police Force for 35 years with courage, integrity and dedication before his retirement.

The priest also highlighted his commitment to the Catholic faith, noting that he remained an active member of the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO) and was regarded as one of the pillars of the Arewa Catholic community in Masaka.

Reflecting on his life, Rev. Fr. Yilbil said the deceased was widely loved for his jovial personality, generosity and ability to make people feel welcome, adding that his numerous nicknames, including Boss Ne, Don Jazzy and Baba Abuja, reflected the relationships he built with people across different communities.

He urged the congregation to draw lessons from the life of the deceased by remaining faithful to God, serving their communities, caring for their families and making positive contributions to society.

The cleric also encouraged Christians not to postpone acts of forgiveness, love and service, stressing the importance of living responsibly and remaining prepared for the inevitable end of life.
