Reno Omokri Backs Kano State Government on N2.5billion Mass Wedding Budget

Former presidential aide and political commentator Reno Omokri has defended the Kano State Government over the amount it allocated for mass weddings in the state.

Omokri, reacting to the event, stated that seeing the young brides at the ceremony reminded him that “the most successful marriages on this planet are arranged marriages.”

He went on to state the girls who are married should be left alone because, according to him, his investigation “established that none of the women involved are underage.”

“If fornication is your culture, it is all well and good for you. In Kano, they prefer legal nuptials before intercourse,”
he added.

Then, defending the Kano State Government for spending an exorbitant sum on the wedding, Reno claimed that Kano is building schools at a rate faster than any other state in the south, other than southwest states.

He added: “If they decide to spend N2.5illion on mass weddings after spending N25 billion on education in 2024 alone menene matsalar (what’s the matter)? To each their own. There should be no judgment.”
