The Embassy of the State of Qatar in Nigeria has dismissed reports claiming that it recently introduced stricter visa requirements for Nigerians.
Speaking to BBC Pidgin on Wednesday, September 10, an official from the Qatari Ministry clarified that no such restrictions exist for Nigerians seeking to travel to Qatar.
This clarification comes after viral reports alleged that Nigerians would now be required to meet additional conditions before obtaining a visa. The purported conditions included mandatory return transfer bookings, hotel reservations, restrictions limiting applications to only women or families, and even a requirement to stay in a five-star hotel.
In its response, the Qatari Embassy described the claims as false, urging Nigerians to disregard the misinformation and rely only on official embassy communication channels for accurate travel guidelines.
