Britain’s Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, is expected to return to the United Kingdom next month with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children, Archie and Lilibet, marking the family’s first visit to Britain together in four years.
According to reports by the BBC, The Telegraph, and ITV News, the Sussex family is preparing for the trip, which coincides with events marking one year until the start of the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.
Harry and Meghan relocated to North America in 2020 after stepping back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family. Since then, the couple have settled in California and have remained at the centre of a highly publicized rift with the royal household.
The Duke and Duchess have previously cited intense media scrutiny, concerns about racism, online abuse, and family tensions as factors behind their decision to leave royal duties and pursue financial independence.
While Harry has made several solo visits to the UK in recent years, including attending the funeral of his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2022 and the coronation of his father, King Charles III, in 2023, the upcoming trip would be the first time the entire family has returned together since 2022.
The Duke also travelled to the UK last September for a meeting with King Charles III, their first face-to-face encounter in nearly two years, fuelling speculation that relations within the royal family may be improving.
It remains unclear whether King Charles will meet his grandchildren during the forthcoming visit. Archie and Lilibet last saw their grandfather in person during celebrations marking the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
Reports indicate that Prince Harry has received assurances regarding security arrangements for the trip, an issue that has previously been a source of concern for the Duke.
The visit is expected to draw significant public attention as the Sussex family makes its first joint appearance in Britain in several years.
