President Bola Ahmed Tinubu resumed his official duties at the Aso Villa on Monday, January 20, following his participation in the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) in the United Arab Emirates.

After arriving back in Abuja on Saturday evening, Tinubu immediately engaged in a series of high-level meetings.

He received a briefing from Zach Adedeji, Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and later met separately with Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo and House of Representatives member James Faleke.

At the Abu Dhabi summit, which brought together over 3,500 global delegates under the theme “The Nexus of Next; Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s commitment to combating climate change.

The President highlighted Nigeria’s progress in renewable energy and policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions.

“Nigeria is prepared to partner with other nations for a sustainable future,” Tinubu stated, urging international collaboration to address deforestation, flooding, and other environmental challenges.

On the sidelines of the event, Tinubu met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame to discuss enhancing intra-African trade and cooperation.

The two leaders explored Africa’s potential for self-development, focusing on leveraging the continent’s vast resources and skilled workforce.

During the Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony, Tinubu applauded two Nigerian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) for their innovative contributions to sustainability.
