President Buhari in New York for 77th UN General Assembly

The President of Nigeria, his Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari arrived in New York, the United States, for the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Monday, September 19.

According to a UN Correspondent, President Buhari arrived at the JF Kennedy International Airport in New York at about 6.20 pm local time.

The president was received on arrival by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States, Dr. Mrs. Uzoma Emenike, among others.

The theme for the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly is: “A watershed moment: Transformative solutions to interlocking challenges.”

President Buhari is expected to deliver Nigeria’s national statement while attending the opening of the High-Level Summit on Transforming Education and Leaders Roundtable.

During the course of his stay in New York, President Muhammad Buhari will be attending numerous programs to represent Nigeria as the 77th UNGA progress till Thursday.
