The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has extended the grace period for enforcing the tinted glass permit requirement for vehicles with tinted windows to October 2, 2025.
According to a statement signed on Monday by Force spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the decision was approved by Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, following a surge in applications on the official portal, signaling increased public compliance.
The extension, the police said, will allow more time for thorough review of applications to ensure that only eligible and qualified individuals receive permits, in line with national security considerations. It will also enable further improvement of digital and physical verification processes to safeguard the integrity of the system and prevent abuse.
The Force urged members of the public to report any incidents of extortion, hidden charges, or unauthorized processing through the designated reporting channels.
