
The
General Manager of Plateau United Football Club, Mr. Pius K. Henwan has
apologized to the Management of Jay Fm for the unfortunate incident
that happened at its organization’s office which led to the kidnap and
assault of Mr. Mbum Ferdinand, a Sports Presenter/Journalist attached to
it by some Plateau United Football Club Supporters.

In a letter personally signed by him and made available to Viewpoint
Nigeria, the General Manager said the management and staff are
dissociating itself from the ugly incident and apologize to the
Management of JayFm and the staff involved.
He went further to say it is neither in his character nor that of his
management to engage in or order such acts of what he tagged
“barbarism”
He said he abhors violence in all ramification and couldn’t have
ordered such barbaric act against a Journalist discharging his duties.
He repeatedly dissociated himself from the thuggery.
He said Plateau United Football Club has enjoyed tremendous support
from Jay FM and Mr. Ferdinand in the past and as such cannot be party to
any malicious act that will bring its relationship with the station to
disrepute.
He said as a proof of the innocence of the Mgt of the football club,
he has personally apologized publicly on the Station’s sports programme
on Sunday less than 24 Hours after the incident.
He said a committee has been set up to look into and recommend
punitive measures to be taken against supporters’ Club Members who
participated in the incident with a view to preventing future
reoccurrence.
