The Plateau state team were playing away to Sunshine Stars of Akure on match day 35 of the Nigerian Professional League on Saturday, September 10th 2016. The match was played at the Akure Township Stadium, Ondo State.
The match started as Plateau United conceded an early goal in the 2nd minute with Dele Olorundare on the Score sheet for the Akure team.
At full time, it was 3-1 in favoure of Sunshine Stars with more goals from Samad Quadri and Dele Olorundare as he added another late goal from the spot.
Despite a goal from Plateau United’s Anayo Ogbonna, the plateau team could not fight back.
