
Reports reaching us indicates that a
group of suspected assassin heavily armed invaded the former
Commissioner for Information and Communication who is now commissioner
of Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Hon Yakubu Dati residence in Tonkus
of Mikang Local Government council on Wednesday 1st January 2020.
The
Armed men who stormed the compound at about midnight forcing their way
in by shooting sporadically at the gate to the house attacked the
security guard at the gate and forced their way inside the compound
shouting where is the commissioner, they suspected killer squad
ransacked the entire building without carrying valuable items.
It
was gathered that there has never been any reported incident of such an
attack of invasion of privacy in the whole of Mikang LGA since the
creation of the Local government.
The
information available to newsmen revealed that the commissioner for
lands, survey, and Town, however, was not around in his house on the 1st
January as he attended a function in Governor Simon Bako Lalong home
town, Ajikemai of Shendam local government council.
The
occasion which ended the late night which made him sleep in Shendam
town but the assassins were thinking that he was going to be home after
the event by plotting on how to attack but the unfortunate thing
happened.
However, no arrest was made but sources close to the
commissioner disclosed that they are on trial of the disgruntled
elements who are bent on terrorizing communities in the southern part of
Plateau State.
Meanwhile,
the wife of Solomon Gujor, deputy DOPA, who was kidnapped on New Year
eve from their residence in Dura, Rayfield, has secured freedom from the
hands of kidnappers.
It was learned that Solomon confirmed that
she was released on the 3rd day of January 2020 after the payment of
N950.000.00 as ransom.
