In a bid to improve healthcare delivery services, with a particular focus on children and women, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to the cause. The governor made this commitment during a recent courtesy visit to him in Jos by representatives from the Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN), World Vision, and the Global Alliance for Vaccine Immunization.

During the meeting, Governor Mutfwang lauded the partners for their unwavering commitment to ensuring the health and well-being of the state’s population, especially children. He expressed deep appreciation for their efforts in gathering resources and showing empathy towards children in the developing world.

The governor emphasized the significance of their work in administering Zero doses of vaccines to children. He acknowledged that by saving lives and strengthening young bodies, these children could go on to become influential members of society in the future. Governor Mutfwang urged the partners to continue their dedicated efforts, assuring them that their actions would be rewarded abundantly.

Michael Idah, the Country Secretariat Director of CHAN, expressed gratitude for the warm reception received from the Governor. He stated that their organization is determined to enhance healthcare services for children in Plateau State. Currently, they are working in Shendam, Quaan Pan, Kanam, and Wase Local Government areas, which have been selected as part of the Zero doses project, involving 100 Local Governments across the country.

Idah explained that the Immunization project aims to reach children who are in out-of-reach areas and those residing in fragile and conflict-affected settings. By collaborating with the government and other partners, the organization hopes to extend its reach and provide essential immunization services to these vulnerable children.

“We are here in this project to help you extend your reach and ensure that these children have Immunization services. This is also to increase our collaboration with government and other partners to get other services,” said Idah.

He expressed satisfaction with the organization’s collaboration with the Plateau State Government and expressed hope for continued teamwork to ensure Zero doses are administered to children in their designated areas.

The visit also included representatives from World Vision US, Dr. Paz Enrique, and Global Alliance for Vaccine Immunization, Victor Raynaud, who were part of the delegation. Their presence highlighted the importance and seriousness of the endeavor.

Governor Mutfwang’s commitment to prioritizing effective healthcare services for children and women demonstrates his administration’s dedication to the well-being and future prospects of the people of Plateau State. With the support of reputable organizations like CHAN, World Vision, and the Global Alliance for Vaccine Immunization, the state is on track to achieve significant milestones in its healthcare sector, ensuring a healthier and more prosperous future for its youngest citizens.
