In a bid to enhance the efficiency of service delivery and cater to the developmental needs of the people, Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mannaseh Mutfwang, has expressed his commitment to reorganize the management of all development partners in the state.
Governor Mutfwang revealed his administration’s dedication to revitalizing the energy, agricultural, and economic sectors within the state to combat poverty and deliver the promised benefits of democracy to the citizens.
The announcement was made on Monday during a courtesy visit to the New Government House in Jos, Plateau State, where Governor Mutfwang received the Head of SEDIN Programme and Cluster Coordinator SEDEC GIZ Nigeria, as well as the ECOWAS Country Director, Dr. Markus Wauschkuhn.
Governor Mutfwang took the opportunity to express his gratitude to GIZ for their substantial support to Plateau State over the years. He recalled an impactful encounter during his tenure as the Local Government Chairman of Mangu Local Government Area when GIZ facilitated the establishment of a storage facility for potatoes, benefiting the local community.
The Governor commended GIZ for its technical support and significant investments aimed at reducing poverty in Plateau State. He also sought GIZ’s collaboration in addressing youth unemployment through various projects in the state.
Governor Mutfwang emphasized his willingness to leverage the existing partnership with GIZ to foster development in Plateau State.
Dr. Markus Wauschkuhn, the Head of SEDIN Programme and Cluster Coordinator SEDEC GIZ Nigeria, and ECOWAS Country Director, expressed his appreciation for the warm reception by Governor Mutfwang.
