The Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Plateau State
Government, Mr. Samuel Emmanuel Nanle, was recently attacked by men
suspected to be armed robbers in between Mararaban Jama’a and Police
Staff College in the night.
Speaking to Nanle on phone, he said that on the fateful night when the
event took place, he was stripped off his phones, and the few money he
had on him. On whether he was brutalized by the underworld men, he said,
no, save for the lost of some of his effects to them. When asked
whether it was a political set up to deal with him, he said no, that the
people who attacked him were armed robbers based on their actions.
According to him, after the robbery he could see the torch lights of the
robbers on the hills close to the Police Staff College and the
Mararaban Jama’a. This he added, was the reason he was incommunicado for
the past three days.
Pundits wonder how armed robbers could operate in such a secured area
with Special Task Force (STF) at the Mararaban Jama’a and the Police
Staff College.
