Plateau State debt now stands at N108 billion

The Plateau state government says the current debt profile of the state is about one hundred and eight billion naira.

An additional fourteen point seven billion naira has also being approved as budget support facility for the state.

Commissioner
for Information and communication, Muhammed Nazif made the revelation
during the monthly media briefing organized by the Ministry.

The
commissioner said as part of plans to conduct local government
elections in 2017, two bills have been sent to the Plateau state house
of assembly for consideration.

So
far the state government has committed the sum of over three billion
naira for the construction of new roads while others have already been
advertised.

The ministry of Lands and survey the commissioner said has started generating revenue from the issuance of right of occupancy.
