Reports from Plateau South APC Senatorial Primaries has it that Prof. Nora Dadu’ut the only female contender for the set byelection has won the APC Southern Senatorial Primaries ticket.
Prof. Nora Dadu’ut pulled 1,936 to floor other Aspirants in the Primary election which held today at Shendam LGC Secretariat. Barr. Damian Shekarau got 26 votes, Prof. Emmanuel Garba scored 60 votes while Prof. D. D. Sheni pulled 61 votes.
Votes were cast by 2,117 Delegates across the 6 LGAs in the Zone for the Primaries.
Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Rt. Hon. Habu Isa Ajiya declared Prof. Nora winner of the Primary Election having secured the highest votes and met the necessary requirements.
Earlier the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong while attending to cast his vote, expressed confidence that the APC will retain its seat at the Senate during the forthcoming by-election to elect a replacement for the late Senator Ignatius Longjan. The Governor commended the peaceful and transparent conduct of delegates and party officials describing it as the display of democratic maturity.
