Reports reaching us has it that the Plateau State Secretary for Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Sheikh
Abdulaziz Yusuf has been kidnapped alongside his driver Wednesday
evening near Kaduna.
Reports indicate that the Sheikh’s last phone communication was
recorded around 6pm where he mentioned that he was approaching Kaduna
city.
Plateau State JNI Publicity Secretary, Alh. Sani Mudi on Thursday
morning confirmed the incident saying the kidnappers had contacted
family members and had asked them to prepare a ransom of a yet to be
stated amount
Mudi said Sheikh Abdulaziz was to meet with Sheikh Khalid Aliyu in
Kaduna for onward movement to Sokoto this morning on a condolence visit
over the death of Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki.
He added that; “his abductors yesterday called his eldest son and the
JNI headquarters PRO but as at this morning, they have not mentioned a
specific amount of money to be paid as ransom. We are still trying to
reach them but his driver’s phone has been ringing without answer.”
