One of the six escaped correctional inmates that escaped when gunmen attacked a Barkin Ladi LGA High court premises in Plateau State, has been recaptured.
In a statement made available by ASC Banda Martha, the Plateau State Command Public Relation Officer said at about 10 am, Thursday 23 august 2020 correctional officers of the Nigerian correctional service Plateau state command, escorted 10 inmates of Jos custodial center to the Barkin Ladi high court standing trial as adjourning by the court in their warrants.
On arrival to the court premises unknown gunmen ambushed the correctional service armed men and aided the escape of 6 inmates while the correctional service armed men were able to curb and avoid the escape of the remaining 4 inmates. ASC Banda also reveals that the service alongside other security agencies in the state is working harmoniously to apprehend the escapees and their masterminds. The public should disregard any information stating that armed personnel was injured during the shoot out, cos there was no casualty or injured person’s incurred during the incident. Specifically, any information contrary to this should be ignored.
In a similar development, a joint effort of security operatives recaptured one of the escapees today 24th August 2020. still, continuous efforts are being made to recapture the remaining 5 inmates. More details shortly
