Plateau PMAN Announces New EXCOs in Jos, Set to Revamp Entertainment on the Plateau (Photos)

The Plateau State Chapter of the Performing Musician Association of Nigeria PMAN has set its sights on revamping The Jos Entertainment Industry.

Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (also known as Performing Musicians Employers’ Association Of Nigeria and abbreviated as PMAN)
is an organization founded by Christy Essien-Igbokwe and Sunny Okosun
in 1984 to guide, protect and promote the interests of musicians in the
west African nation of Nigeria.

The Plateau state Chapter through a press conference held on
Friday, 14th June, 2019 at the Plateau State Ministry of Information Hall, announced new state executives to pilot its activities in Plateau State and rolled out plans of revamping the
Jos entertainment industry.

The newly constituted PMAN EXCO through the Interim Governor, Comrade
Humphrey Iroegbu (colour), said the new face of PMAN on the plateau will set to correct some ills in the industry and help to ensure local artists are aired on
both Radio and Television to promote and encourage artists’ unity on the
Plateau. The State body said they also set their sights on protecting the right/rights of any artist in case of any
infringement and to organize special programs to be featured on both
Radio and Television for its members.

All previous
Executive Council Members of PMAN, Plateau State Chapter has since been
dissolved and therefore handed over to the above listed officials. Thus,
every deal, treaty and/ or transaction in the name of the Union should
be restricted to the above listed officials.

PMAN Plateau state has also advocated that all public/corporate
events on the Plateau to have a 65 percent (%) representation of its
local artists as well as securing adequate payment for the artists. Brands and companies are to notify and seek
official consent of the union before they can negotiate, endorse or sign
any artist.

Humphrey Iroegbu (colour) rounded off by extending the unions gratitude to government and private agencies, as
well as media bodies, security agencies and other groups and individuals
for standing by and showing support during its trying period.
