The Plateau Peace Practitioners Network (PPPN) has strongly condemned the recent killings in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, describing the incident as a “horrific and cold-blooded murder” of innocent citizens.

In a statement signed by the PPPN President, Nanmok D. Bali, the organization expressed deep sorrow over the attack, which it says is a major setback to the fragile peace process in the region. The group described the killings as a crime against humanity and a tragedy that has plunged communities into mourning.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families, the good people of Bokkos, and all affected communities during this difficult and painful time,” the statement read. “No community deserves to wake up to such terror and loss.”

PPPN called on security agencies to urgently rise to their constitutional duty of protecting lives and property, stressing that the attackers must be brought to justice. It also emphasized the need for enhanced intelligence gathering, early warning systems, and rapid response mechanisms to prevent future occurrences.

The group further appealed to both the Plateau State and Federal Governments to provide immediate relief materials to the affected families and displaced persons, highlighting the emotional and economic impact of the crisis.

“Urgent humanitarian assistance is required to cushion the effects on victims and survivors. This is not only a moral obligation but a strategic step toward rebuilding trust between the government and the affected communities,” the group stated.

While urging communities to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, PPPN called on traditional, religious, and community leaders to continue promoting peace and dialogue.

Reaffirming its commitment to peacebuilding, PPPN declared, “Enough of the bloodshed. Enough of the violence. The lives of our people must be valued and protected.”
