Plateau: Lalong applauds coronation of Garba Pwul

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has described the conferment of a chieftaincy title on Barrister Garba Pwul Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) by the Mwaghavul Traditional Council as that of an achiever and Plateau Patriot.


The governor stated this at the coronation ceremony of chieftaincy at the palace of the the Mishkaham Mwagahvul in Mangu LGA of the state.
The coronation ceremony of Barrister Garba Pwul SAN as the Sardauna Mwagahvul attracted dignitaries, legal practitioner and traditional rulers from within and outside the state.
The governor who was represented by his Deputy, Professor Sonni Tyoden said the award was a celebration of hard work and urged the celebrant to emulate the virtues of the late Sardauna of Sokoto who was known for his selfless service to the people.
He called on traditional rulers in the state to take a cue from the Mwagahvul Traditional Council has done and noted that they did not just give the title for the fun of it but by assessing and measuring the awardees and felt he deserve it before he was chosen for the award and cautioned on the traditional class not to politicize or commercialize these titles but allow merit to be the major consideration.
The paramount ruler of the Mwagahvul Traditional Institution, Da Nelson Bakfur said the Mwagahvul Nation was proud to celebrate the brilliant performance of Barrister Pwul chosen career which has earned him the first indigenous Senior Advocate of Nigeria in Plateau State.
Bakfur said Pwul was now accepted as one of the topic advisers to the Mwagahvul Traditional Council, a position that would entrust move responsibilities to him and called on the awardee to accept it as call to service to his, father land which calls for high commitment to community service.
He charged the award recipient to brace up to the responsibility which involve personal sacrifice for the upliftment of the entire Mwagahvul Nation.
The newly coronated Sardauna Mwagahvul, Garba Pwul appreciated the Mwagahvul Traditional Council for recognizing his service to the people and promised to do more and thanked  all well wishers for the support given him.
