Plateau Governor Lalong Declares 2020 Jos Trade Fair Open (Photos)

The Jos 2020 Trade Fair was Officially declared open by the Plateau State Governor on Monday, 19th October at the Jos Polo Field.

The Plateau state Governor, Simon bako Lalong who was represented at the occasion by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.Mr Sylvanus Tapgun, who through his speech assured the state of his administrations commitment to supporting the Jos Trade Fair as one of the economic booster in the state. He said “The Jos Trade Fair is dear to my heart and our Rescue Administration because of the role it plays in opening up the state to economic activities

Lalong said that the theme “Trade Fairs a Platform for Sustaining MSMEs in a Challenging Economy” was apt as the world is still suffering from the impact of COVID-19 Pandemic which has ravaged the world and shook the economy of even developed countries. As such Government must redouble its efforts in restoring the state back to normal.

The Governor further stated that Government was not resting on its efforts in creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive on the plateau given the forthcoming NAFEST which will not only promote the rich cultural heritage of the state but will also boost economic activities. Lalong also commended the efforts of the organizers of the Jos Trade fair and assured both exhibitors and visitors of adequate security as he encouraged more partnership with the private sector

Speaking earlier Bolict Barshep  the Managing Director of Anista Marketing the organizers of the fair said that counting on the successes of previous editions, it has become imperative that we build on that in order to achieve greater success as it is evident in this years edition and to put the name of Plateau once again on the high amongst states to be reckoned with. saying that the choice of the theme for the Jos Trade fair 2020 which is “Trade Fairs,A Platform for Sustaining MSMEs in a Challenging Economy” is apt as this will open doors for the building of a stronger economy for MSMEs to cope with the effect of the pandemic as we adjust to the new normal.

She said that it is worthy to note that this year’s event is unique in such that not only do we have the Simon Bako Lalong Made in Plateau Exhibition Pavilionbut also have another set of 40 booths for MSMEs fully sponsored by the Plateau State government and the industrial Training Fund respectively. Noting that ANISTA marketing has in addition to the daily business activities of the day ,rolled outit’s daily evening social events which will serve as an avenue to tap from the raw  talents that abound on the plateau creating an avenue for them to meet withstakeholders in the industry.

<Ms Bolcit also went on to appreciate the media and all the security agencies, local and foreign exhibitors, the plateau state government for yet another
privilege to work with them and PLACCIMA for being a great partner in the success of this journey.
