The Plateau Debate Guild has dissociated itself from all online and offline post-debate poll ratings or grading of the various Plateau Gubernatorial candidates after the recently held debate.

Recall that the Plateau Governorship Debate was held on Saturday 28th January 2022 with the frontline gubernatorial candidates of four parties in attendance, including the Labour Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, the All Progressive Congress and the People Redemption Party.
However various online publications after the debate have suggested winners and losers of the debate which has caused various suggestions from different quarters on the genuineness of such polls.
In a swift reaction the Plateau Debate Guild in a press statement issued and signed by the Director General, Dr Daniel Meshak, stated that it would like to categorically state that “it is not involved in any post-debate poll to rate or grade the candidates. As such, we dissociate ourselves from any post-debate ratings in circulation. If some entities felt the need to rate the performance of the candidates after the debate, it is entirely their prerogative and has nothing to do with the Plateau Debate Guild.”
The statement further said that “the 2023 Plateau Gubernatorial Debate was adjudged to be a huge success owing to the massive support and attention it received from the general public.
The group said it will continue to pursue its objectives one of which is to stimulate an issue-based political environment where candidates are assessed on the strength of their vision for the state and not on sentiments such as religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation.
