A group, known as the Coalition of Plateau Concerned Youths and a coalition of the aggrieved APC Governorship aspirants, on Friday 3rd June, staged a protest at the APC state Secretariat, Kawla House in Jos, over what it termed as ‘Candidate imposition’ at the recently conducted Gubernatorial Primaries in the state.

President of the group, Dapul P while addressing journalists said that the protest was to tell the world that they have been robbed of their rights and shall not forgive the ‘Generation Next’ that does not respect humans and the rule of law.  He stated that they are in possession of video evidence of the recent show of shame in the APC Primary election and will stop at nothing until justice is served.

“Democracy is not a stolen mandate, You don’t build an empire based on family affiliation. And on the premise of injustice there shall be no justice; Hence little wonder the type of democratic rape witnessed in the recent Plateau APC Primaries”

“We will not remain silent as to such, we wish to register our displeasure” Dapul further stated.

Recall that the All Progressive Congress APC in Plateau state recently held its Gubernatorial elections on Thursday 26th May, 2022 State which saw three (3) aspirants staging a protest walkout and four(4) others making last-minute withdrawals. The election, however, continued with Aspirant, Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda later declared the winner of the Primary Election after he polled a total of 803 votes out of the 922 total votes cast.
