
The Nation reports that there was serious jubilation in Ado Ekiti
main road on Sunday after the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate,
Dr. Kayode Fayemi emerged winner of Saturday’s governorship election
in Ekiti state.
Fayemi was declared governor-elect by the Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Idowu Abel Olayinka at 7.59 am on Sunday.

Olayinka, who is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan,
declared the poll’s outcome after party agents signed the official
result sheet.
Fayemi polled 197, 459 votes to defeat the People’s Democratic
Party (PDP) candidate and incumbent Deputy Governor, Professor Kolapo
Olusola who garnered 178, 121 votes.
