The Signing of memorandum of understanding between the Northern Governor’s forum, the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, The Kukah Foundation and the Profutura Foundation of Spain.
The Memorandum which was signed at the Transcorp Hotel Abuja, Friday the 26th of May 2017 is for the provision of access to Education and ICT for the over 14 million Children in Northern who are the Risk of exclusion to qualitative education on account of poverty, Insurgency and social imbalances. The Profutura foundation is to be supported by the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, Dangote foundation, and the Barrack and Michelle Obama foundation.
The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria and the Kukah Foundation are the implementing partners and will work in Conjunction with the Commissioners of Education of the 19 Northern States to identifying the various schools and location for the implementation of the project.
In attendance at the signing of the Memorandum are the Chairman Northern Governor’s forum and Governor of Borno, Alh Shettima, the Governors of Plateau, Kebbi, Taraba, deputy Governor of Niger, representatives of the Governors of Kaduna, Nasarawa states, the emir of Keffi Alh Chindo Yamusa lll represented the Northern Traditional Rulers Forum and the Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Rev Matthew Manoso Ndagoso was in attendance for the Catholic Bishops Conference.
