Customs Boss, Hameed Ali shows off dollars seized by his officers
The Nigeria Customs Service has arrested an airport worker linked
with the movement of about $8.6 million intercepted on Tuesday at the
Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
Recall that Customs had earlier revealed that the money was
concealed inside a bus belonging to the Nigerian Aviation Handling
Company (NAHCO) at the Tarmac section of the airport.
Customs further added that the money was being prepared to be smuggled out of the country without proper declaration.
This comes as President Muhammadu Buhari vowed to secure the
country, and bring corruption to its bearest minimum before leaving
office.

In order to achieve that, he appointed all the Service Chiefs, the
Inspector General of Police, and Comptroller General of the Nigeria
Customs Service, Hameed Ali to assist the Economic and Financial Crimes
Commission, EFCC, ICPC and other security agencies in fighting
insecurity and corruption in the country.
