Gov Simon Lalong says education will continue to take priority in his administration’s determination to bequeath the youths with a brighter future.

According to the Governor,  the Government Secondary School, Shendam will be upgraded to a technical school as part of his administration’s plan to establish a technical school in each senatorial zone of the state.

Speaking at the Thanksgiving Service of the Shendam Old Student’s Association (SOSA)  at the Government Secondary school, Shendam, he further enjoined citizens to give back to their alma-mater to secure the future of the emerging generation and generations yet unborn.

According to Gov Lalong, he met comatose education sector, ranking 35th out of the 36 states of the federation and is today on a speedy path to recovery.

The Governor said the rescue administration revamped the sector through strategic interventions including the reabsorption of 3,000 suspended teachers, payment of 6 month salary areas, recruitment and training of teachers, construction of more than 500 classrooms across the 17 LGAs, amongst others.

Gov Lalong and his wife, Regina Lalong were joined by top government functionaries at the school premises.
