Photos: CAN Led Protest in Plateau Hijacked by Hoodlums, Forced Entry into Government House

The Christian association of Nigeria CAN  and Plateau Youths came out on a joint protests led by REV. canon Nenman Gowon Northern Zone, Plateau state. The protest was held on the heels of the recent killings of over 100 citizens in Plateau State by suspected Fulani herdsmen.

Reports reaching us indicates that the protest was later hijacked by thugs and hoodlums who broke into Government house little Rayfied destroying properties, breaking windscreens, smashing cars and throwing stones at the Government house building resulting into breaking of glasses and hurling stones at security operatives.  The CAN led women and youths protest which started peacefully turned uncontrollable violent.

At the last count before this report Several cars were destroyed and the frontal entrance of the Government house was destroyed.

The police shot in the air to disperse the rampaging protesters., The DOPPA Emmanuel Nanle was trying to address the crowd on behalf of the Governor who was away from the Government house but the crowd refused to heed to his message as they keep chanting that they want to see the Governor.

Amongst the crowd notable leaders seen in the protest train were Rep ID Gyang and Former minister of Water Resources Sarah Ochekpe  The leader of the team Rev. Nenman Gowon could not calm the nerves of the protesters who violently oppose his message of peace alleging he sold out to the Government after leading them to protest.
