Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has celebrated award-winning author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie on her 48th birthday, praising her influence on literature, feminism, and cultural discourse.

In a birthday message shared on X on Monday, Obi described Adichie as a “literary amazon” whose talent has become a light for society.

“Chimamanda has blossomed into a true literary giant, whose writings enrich global literature while uplifting humanity,” Obi wrote. He noted that through her novels and literary workshops, she continues to inspire young people to dream boldly, think critically, and use words as tools of truth and transformation.

He also commended her humility and deep connection to her roots, recalling how she once revisited her alma mater to reconnect with her former teachers. According to Obi, that gesture highlighted the importance of gratitude and drawing strength from the past.

“On this special day, I celebrate her not only as my sister but also as a beacon of inspiration to millions. May God continue to strengthen her, bless her in the years ahead with wisdom and joy, and make her light shine even brighter for Nigeria and the world,” he added.
