Security operatives have arrested a member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Chinyere Igwe after he was caught with $500,000 cash for alleged vote buying.
Igwe, a serving member who represents Port Harcourt 2 Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber, was intercepted with a huge sum of money and immediately detained.
Also recovered from him was a list detailing how the funds was to be distributed across all the local governments.
A Twitter user, @Topboychriss shared the photo of the lawmaker and wrote:
“BREAKING:
Hon. Chinyere Igwe (Member House of Representatives) arrested in the early hours of Friday morning in Port Harcourt with over Five Hundred Thousand US Dollars ($500,000.00) which he claimed was given to him by Atiku to ensure his electoral success in Rivers State.”
