In a decisive outcome from the October 9 local government elections, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has claimed victory in the chairmanship races across 10 out of Plateau State’s 17 local government areas that have so far been announced.
Hon. Daniel Cishak, Chairman of the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC), officially announced the results today, detailing the votes each party received across the contested local government areas. According to PLASIEC, the PDP secured chairmanship positions in Kanam, Jos East, Barkin Ladi, Langtang South, Quanpan, Riyom, Jos South, Bassa, Mikang, and Jos North.
The results for the remaining seven local government areas are still being finalized and are expected to be announced soon.
