The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed claims that a court order is restraining it from holding its proposed national convention.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, clarified the matter on Wednesday during an interview with Arise Television, following protests by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his supporters.
“We’re guided by our rules, and we’re guided by law. More importantly, we’re guided by the guidelines of the party,” Ologunagba stated.
He explained that the organs of the party had already made their decisions regarding the convention and that all stakeholders, including those who claim to be members of the National Executive Committee (NEC), were duly notified.
Responding to concerns that Wike’s objections could derail the process, Ologunagba rejected the claim.
“Again, that would be completely untrue. I don’t like to use the word lies, or dancing to the gallery,” he added.
