Nigerian comedian Chibunna Stanley, popularly known as Funnybone, has criticised what he described as a growing trend of public disputes among modern clergymen on social media.
In a post shared on his Instagram page on Tuesday, the comedian expressed concern that religious leaders are increasingly addressing disagreements with fellow pastors online rather than resolving them privately.
Funnybone described the development as embarrassing and tiring to watch, questioning why ministers could not settle their differences through direct communication instead of public exchanges.
He argued that such behaviour reflects poorly on the Christian community and suggested that religious leaders should model restraint and maturity in handling conflicts.
According to him, public confrontations among preachers risk turning serious spiritual matters into online spectacle and could undermine the credibility of church leadership.
His comments come amid recent online disputes involving some Nigerian clerics, which have sparked debate among Christians and social media users about accountability, decorum, and the role of religious leaders in the digital age.
