Olushola Oladoja, a postgraduate student at the University of Jos, has been elected the National President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
Oladoja secured 300 votes, defeating his closest opponents, Salauhudeen Suleiman of the University of Abuja and Gambo Abubakar of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, Lapai.
The election took place on Wednesday at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja, with over 358 student leaders, including presidents of Students’ Union Governments from various tertiary institutions, participating in the process.
Comrade Suleiman Sariki, Chairman of the NANS Convention Committee, oversaw the exercise, which several delegates described as transparent and credible. Many commended the organizers for ensuring a smooth and fair election.
