Mr Emmanuel Ochekpe has suffered defeat at the APC congress that took place over tge weekend.
Ochekpe accused the electoral committee of denying him nomination form to contest the APC Chairmanship of Benue State.
Mr Ochekpe, who is the husband of Sarah Ochekpe, the embattled PDP former Minister standing trial for # 450 million corruption charges in Plateau State, vowed to appeal his maltreatment.
Mr Ochekpe alleged that he was told to collect his nomination form by 10am on the day of the congress, a clear violation of the guidelines which stipulates that aspirants must submitt nomination forms 24 hours before the congress.
Leaders of the APC in Benue accuse the Ochekpes of double standards – alledging that they are known agents of Plateau State PDP on an errand to distabilise the party in Benue State.
Political pundits however see this as attempt by the Ochekpes to crossover to the APC.
Sarah Ochekpe is undergoing trial for #450 millon corruption charges at the Jos High Court.
Hearing is on going at the Federal high Court sitting in Jos in the matter between the Federal Government of Nigeria versus Sarah Ochekpe, Leo jitong and Raymond Dabo in a matter of conspiracy, money laundering and misappropriation of funds to the tune of four hundred and fifty million naira(#450 million).
The first witness, Annette Gyen testified on how she disbursed the said amount to the threesome.
