The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has launched an investigation into a viral video depicting a corps member undergoing punishment at her place of primary assignment.
In the video, the corps member is seen being subjected to a form of punishment by a school proprietress, which has triggered public outrage.
The video suggests that the corps member was being disciplined for failing to fulfill her work responsibilities. In the dialogue heard in the footage, the corps member explained in Yoruba that she had experienced symptoms related to menstruation.
The school proprietress responded that had she explained her situation, she would have understood, as she is also a woman.
The video has infuriated Nigerians who alleged a habit among employers of bullying corp members at their place of primary assignment (PPA).
