Nollywood actress and filmmaker Adunni Ade has announced the death of her mother, who passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, following a prolonged illness.
The actress announced the sad development on Monday, October 19, in an emotional tribute shared on her official Instagram page, accompanied by photographs of her late mother.
Expressing her grief, Adunni Ade said she was accepting the loss with a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah.
“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator on October 18 after a long battle with illness,” she wrote.
The actress said her late mother is survived by her children, grandchildren, sisters and other loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory.
In her tribute, she prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy upon her mother’s soul, asking Him to grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus and give the family the strength to endure the painful loss.
“Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen,” she wrote.
Adunni Ade also expressed her enduring love for her mother, praying for a reunion with her in paradise.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen,” she added.
The actress disclosed that details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated in due course.
