The Nigerian National Petroleum Company, NNPC Limited, has addressed widespread speculations regarding a potential increase in fuel pump prices in the country.
Reports had emerged suggesting that the landing cost of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, had risen from N651 per litre to N720 per litre.
This fueled speculations that the pump price of the petroleum product may skyrocket in the next few days.
However, reacting to the report, the company’s management, in a statement shared Friday on X, denied the report, saying there was no intention for any increment.
The statement reads, “Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage, and we do not have the intention to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated.
“Please buy the best-quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide”.
