Adenike Obaoye, a Nigerian woman residing in Germany, has accused German authorities of seizing her two children, Noah and David, after a German court reportedly refused to grant her permission to take them to Nigeria.
Obaoye, in a video posted on her TikTok account on Monday, claimed that the court in Berlin-Kreuzberg denied her request to release her two non-German toddlers for travel. She revealed that her children, Noah, born in August 2021, and David, born in July 2022, are Nigerian citizens and do not hold dual citizenship with Germany.
She wrote, “Done with the Family Court at Berlin-Kreuzberg and the German female judge refused to release my non-German children to travel to Nigeria as I demanded.”
According to Obaoye, her children are Nigerians and do not have dual citizenship with Germany.
Obaoye said, “At the court, Germany refused to release non-German children, claiming they want the children to remain in Germany, which is a violation of the children’s rights and a violation of my own rights as their mother.
“I’m a single mother with sole custody of both children. Germans want to inherit children that are not theirs.”
According to PUNCH Diaspora Tales, it was gathered that the divorced woman claimed the German authorities wanted to use state kidnapping to take custody of her children.
“But this justice will not last. I’m still going to fight it,” she added.
All efforts by our correspondent to get her to comment on the reasons why the court took custody of the children were futile, as she did not respond to messages as of the time of filing this report.
